Well, the only thing that comes in the way of you shifting to a healthy lifestyle is your emotional state of being.

Don’t you think if your willpower is strong enough to say no to processed toxic food you can have the healthiest body on planet Earth?

With this blog post I want to empower you with the awareness that no matter how much kale, broccoli, spinach & berries you consume, if your mental state is not stable, you will be moving backwards in life!

First to get it all clear; the reason we are talking about emotional health is-

THOUGHTS ARE EVERYTHING.

What you think, you become!

If your emotional state is weak & negative,

if you get triggered frequently,

if other people’s suffering leaves you miserable and powerless,

then I’m sorry to break it to you that YOU NEED TO WORK ON YOUR MENTAL HEALTH NOW & FAST!

But before you start stooping in the lowest depth of misery, read on to understand some of the fundamental facts that most of you are getting all wrong!


Your perception of Happiness.

Happiness doesn’t mean that you’re always chirpy, enthusiastic and positive. Life is a journey and comes with it’s own interesting sets of twists and turns. I was recently introduced to the four pillars of Happiness by my favorite influencer Valeria after she read Emily Smith’s book called ‘The Power of Meaning.’

In this book, Emily talks about happiness standing on the four pillars of

belongingness

purpose

story-telling &

transcendence !

What this means is that instead of focussing on always being happy and chirpy (which is often confused as living in denial), you must focus on

a> Surrounding yourself with like-minded souls who believe in the same things as you do. This however is easier said than done. We all have a bunch of energy vampires in our reality who try to constantly suck the positivity out of our veins. We need to buckle up and start IGNORING them immediately. It takes courage to say no but if it’s fucking with your mental peace, you GOTTA DO IT!

b>Finding your purpose and being of service to your family/friends/society will make you naturally a very happy person. When we do an act of kindness and are of service to a fellow soul, our body secretes the happy hormones of serotonin & oxytocin which in turn gives us the feeling of joy that we seek by going out shopping thinking that that’s what’s going to make us happy (… do you hear the Cosmic giggle?…)

c>Story-telling is the art of being able to spin a good & intimate yarn. This is the yarn that makes your fellow like-minded souls bond with you instantly. We all have similar struggles and insecurities so each time you share your truth, your story, just know that that story is comforting someone out there like a fluffy blanket on a cold winter night.

How many times have your heard of someone’s journey/story and gotten extremely inspired & motivated to work harder?! 😉

d>Transcendence or mindfulness or as I like to call it ‘heartfullness’ is the fourth and the most important pillar which will give you an instant access to joy. Living in the present moment by understanding the power of ‘now’ is going to transform the way you live your life.  For the believers out there…here’s a universal truth…

‘time is just an illusion’

‘the only time that there is, is … NOW’

So, live now fully in fact, mindfully!

And this is the secret recipe to mental well-being!


Your understanding of Confidence.

Your perception of confidence plays an astronomical role in your emotional state of being.

How many times have you looked at a confident person & felt how lucky they must be to be a stage in life where they kinda ’know it all’?

The second you catch yourself thinking this, know that you’ve gotten the whole confidence thing WRONG!

Let me burst your bubble and tell you that confidence does not make you happy, confidence shouldn’t be looked at as a GOAL to reach in life as it will screw up your mental state.

Confidence is simply a feeling, a feeling you experience when you discover yourself by putting yourself in uncomfortable situations and thereby growing! Growth results in confidence, listening to your heart, following and chasing your dreams results in confidence; failure results in confidence provided you take failures as valuable lessons!

The more sure you are of yourself, the more stable you’ll be emotionally and as a result of that… confidence will come organically to you!


Judgement Detox

I know people consuming a wholesome diet but still falling prey to dis-eases ranging from tumor & cancer to thyroid & arthritis. I choose to believe that 99% of the times dis-eases occur due to a negative belief system which is a result of an unhealthy state of mind. The moment you heal your emotional state, you’re more than sorted.

We are now living in a society where the expectations are too high and criticism, gossip & judging others has become a source of entertainment. The negativity that arises out of these actions results in angst against one another further piling up to resentment.

Think of three people in your life who’ve upset you or hurt you beyond measures?

Can you forgive them for their actions?

No?

How do you think your mental state is?

You think forgiving them is going to do any good to them?

Think (and comment below), who benefits the most when we let go and forgive?


The books you read, the content you consume & the people you surround yourself with.

Have you heard a nugget of wisdom that says ‘you’re an amalgamation of the 5 people you surround yourself with’.

Well with changing times, this nugget has tweaked to- you are an amalgamation of what type of content you consume, the books you read, the people you surround yourself with and the perception lens you wear to look at situations in life.

I’m an avid reader who spends quality time researching about good books before delving into ‘em. I am of the school of thought that social media is a blessing in disguise. If this SHOCKS you then go check out the kind (quality) of people you are following.

    The part i liked the most was the books we read, the people we surround are most important because the people we should surround with should be positive in life and think positive for others too rather than being negative and hated by others . I think i liked this part a lot and it related with me cuz you know why😛
