The Creative Opulent World of Abu Dhabi

on

Hello Readers,

It’s been a while since I wrote about the magical world of ‘Travel’. So here I am, playing tourist in my own city till the time I fly to my next holiday destination. 😉 I’m ecstatic that our Abu Dhabi road trip got materilaised a couple of weekends ago because the husband & I absolutely love exploring a myriad of cultures; and Abu Dhabi has a jaw-dropping opulence of it’s own!!!

I want to yet again express gratitude to the Universe for putting me up in the fabulous city of Dubai, U.A.E where Tourism now is at it’s peak which means that the country has left no stone unturned to not just maintain all the current attractions but also come up with more & more options that would seem welcoming for everyone-

art ethusiasts,

adventure lovers,

shopaholics,

foodies,

food connoisseurs,

party animals,

beach bums,

virtual reality lovers,

mystery lovers,

so on & so forth.

{ Abu Dhabi is about 90 minutes drive from Dubai so it required a bit of planning from our side since we aren’t early risers.}

This blog post will draw focus on-

Qasr Al Watan

The Maven Lifestyle by Aakansha Shewakramani

A working palace where the UAE Supreme Council & Federal Cabinet (Sheikh of Abu Dhabi, Crown Prince & family) is put up. A fraction of this gorgeous palace has been open for the exploreres like us to get a sneak peak into their home enivornment, their lifestyle.

“Qasr Al Watan is more than a palace, it’s a unique testament to the spirit of UAE’s people and its leaders.”

Hakkasan

The Maven Lifestyle by Aakansha Shewakramani

This michelin star chain from Mayfair, London has become an absolute favourite for food connoisseurs around the world. Hakkasan serves modern Cantonese cuisine and perhaps the fanciest cocktails in the whole of UAE!

Lourve Museum

You must have heard of the famous Lourve Museum in Paris, yes?

Now visualise that storehouse of art opening a yet another creative space in Abu Dhabi!

“Lourve, Abu Dhabi is a new cultural beacon, bringing different cultures together to shine fresh light on the shared stories of humanity.”

I strongly recommend you explore all 3 of these places and now allow me to present some more information to you along with some heart-warming & jaw-dropping pics 😉 !!!

TIPS-

-> This working palace plus a hotshot tourist spot has two kinds of tours. Please pick the one that allows you access both inside (palace) and outside (gardens).

-> I personally feel a guided tour is not required unless you’re extremely curious to consume lots of information. ALSO, the price difference between the unguided & guided tour urged me to pick the former.

-> Going around sunset would mean extremely lucrative photo opportunities.

-> If you are at the palace around sunset, please walk around more to find the most soothing spot to sink the architectural beauty in.

-> This whole excursion requires lots of walking + photo opportunities so please wear comfy yet fancy shoes.

-> You can carry your camera inside but not a glass bottle.

IS THIS PLACE FOR ME?

-> This place is for you if you are a fan of architecture, palaces and enjoy hearing about the royal familys’ whereabouts.

-> You’d be pleased to visit Qasr Al Watan, if you are a photographer at heart. This place has excellent photo opportunities.

-> This place is for all the creative souls out there for whom art & architecture == oxytocin.

P.S…This place is “not for you” if you can’t walk for 2+ hours & if art & architecture doesn’t excite you.

I truly believe that there’s no such thing is as good or bad idea of ‘fun & exploration’.

If you genuinely don’t feel kicked about a place like so, DON’T GO just because you are full of FOMO! 😉

SPIRIT JUNKIE ALERT

Everytime we visit a place that excites us & fills us with enthusiasm, we leave a high vibrational fragment of our soul there which becomes the part of that places’ auric field . If you dislike a place or feel agitated & frustrated then the soul fragment you leave there is that of a low vibrational frequency. This is another of the reasons why you feel a strong sense of faith & trust when you visit a church, temple, mosque or any religious space. The soul fragments in these places are of a higher vibration.

Having said this, don’t you think it’s better if you always go to a place that excites you and inspires you so that in return you can offer a higher vibrational fragment of your soul to that place???

Hakkasan, Abu Dhabi

The Maven Lifestyle by Aakansha Shewakramani

If you’re into authentic (Cantonese) Chinese Cuisine, then this place will feed the food enthusaist in you. Vegetarian dumplings were to die for and same goes for pretty much ANYTHING you order here. I believe I am going to visit Hakkasan, Dubai with my famjam again on my birthday because I cannot wait for them to experience what I’ve experienced here through stellar food. And can we also take a minute to applaud the cocktails here?

TIPS-

-> If you’re visiting Qasr Al Watan around sunset, then do go to Hakkasan for dinner. It’s less than a 2 minute drive and located at the Emirates Palace Hotel which right next to the palace. You’ll have the best evening ever, I promise.

-> Even though Hakkasan is quite a hotshot space, reservation is not required if you go around 7:30PM. Crowd picks up only after 8:30pm.

-> Do not leave Hakkasan without trying their dumplings (the vegetarian set especially). They’re so good, you might want to reorder!!!

A vegetarian favorite. Tofu, aubergine and shitake mushroom claypot, a mix of fresh flavors with chilly black bean sauce.

Dim sums as good as a piece of art, don’t you agree?

IS THIS PLACE FOR ME?

-> If you’ve been wanting to experience a Michelin Star rated restaurant, then Hakkasan would be a place you’d like probably a looottt because the food is extremely appetizing and rich in saliva generating (*drools*) Asian flavours.

-> If you are someone who believes in splurging on stellar quality food.

-> If you’ve been wanting to go on a dumpling & tea date with a mate.

-> If you like catching up for some snazzy drinks and lip-smacking food!

-> If you enjoy Chinese cuisine, you got to go here!

Lourve Museum

The Maven Lifestyle by Aakansha Shewakramani

There’s a lot to explore in Lourve and I can say that after walking around for over 4.5 hours and still wanting to see some more paintings & scupltures. Lourve also has a multitude of activities (check our their website) for both children & adults.

IS THIS PLACE FOR ME?

-> If you want to explore art from over 1000 years ago, then Lourve will warm your heart.

The Maven Lifestyle by Aakansha Shewakramani

-> If you’re a budding art enthusiast like me, then this place will restore your faith in the power of healing through artistic representation.

-> If you think your imagination is poor or visualising doesn’t come natrurally to you, go to Lourve with an open heart and mind that is ready to absorb creative energy like a sponge.

The Maven Lifestyle by Aakansha Shewakramani

-> If you want to expose your children to the magical world of creativity, you got to check the Lourve website for the kind of programs they have. 🙂

-> If you’re willing to walk for 4+ hours for the love of art, this place is for you.

-> If you’re a fashion designer or a stylist (or an architect, interior designer, interior decorater), this place will recharge & refill your creative juices!
