Health Myths | Part 2

Dear Readers,

Here I present to you more health related myths that deserve to be busted. Please know that with this whole myth busting exercise, I intend to give YOU your POWER back. Please don’t allow greedy brands, industries & medical practioners scare you to become a slave to pills!

Oh and this makes an awesome segue into…


Myth 5:

Antibiotics help your body in fighting viral infections.

I must have repeated more than a hundred times that ‘antibiotics can only fight bacterial infections/diseases’. They have ZERO role to play when you’re down with viral illness. STOP taking antibiotics effective immediately. They are actually doing 100 times more harm to your body by flushing out all the good bacteria in your gut which is in charge of your hormonal health, mental health, digestive health, immunity and a lot many things.

1 dose of antibiotics flushes out good bacteria from your system which can take upto 6 months to grow again!!! 

Now think, is it really worth it?

If you’re wondering WHAT TO DO WHEN SICK, then please go back to the basics and treat food=medicine. Stick to natural remedies such as turmeric wonder drink, read recipe here!

Also, practice Gratitude & Meditation because you need it the most when you’re unwell. Always remember that diseases first start at the level of thought. Once you heal the way you think, no dis-ease can match up to your vibe and manifest in your reality. A viral infection usually hits us when we have worthyness issues (which most of us do at one point or the other).

You treat the root cause (thought) and the symptom (viral infection) will disappear.

Myth 6:

If you are stressed, go work out and you’ll be fine!

Who meditates anyway?

Meditation is for monks!!!

Stress can become a part of reality as a result of your work, relationships, family issues, heartbreak, etc. Dealing with stress needs to be mindful because when you are stressed, your Nervous System goes in sympathetic mode which is fight or flight mode. You might think that stress will go away with time but it actually doesn’t unless and until it is addressed HEAD ON! Also, some people start working out excessively when they have had a heartbreak. They use exercise to run away from the problem or pent up emotions. This is the worst thing you can do to yourself.

Over-exercising coupled with stress will exhaust your adrenal glands and create a humungous imbalance in your Endocrine System (hormones).

If anything (be it big or small) is bothering you or bugging you in anyway whatsoever, TALK ABOUT IT. Reach out for help. Take a Healing session that will uncover the root cause behind the problem and remove it with utmost grace.

Myth 7: Taking Calcium supplements is very important for most of us.

There’s a lot of HOOHAA about supplements and especially Calcium supplements which boggles my mind.

Why?

Well, firstly supplements are made in a laboratory which makes them synthetic. Secondly, your body can only absorb 5-10% of the nutrient from the supplement. Thirdly, for your body to absorb even that 5-10%, it needs to be super healthy & alkaline. An alkaline body is achieved when your sugar intake is minimum and your vegetable intake is extremely high. So, hence proven how effin’ futile supplements are.

So now what to do?

Back to the basics please, FOOD=MEDICINE.

If you want to increase the calcium content in your body, indulge in-

roasted sesame seeds (til),

curry leaves (kadhi patta),

sweet potato,

broccoli,

sunflower seeds,

chia seeds,

okra (bhindi).

Making sure you have one of these in your diet every day regardless of your deficiency.  These are more than enough to ensure that your bones are almost always healthy and happy.

Also, know that your body needs Vitamin D to absorb calcium so a healthy amount of sun exposure is non-negotiable!!!

Myth 8: Thyroid, psoriasis, type 2 diabetes, rheumatoid arthiritis, osteopenia, chronic depression are incurable.

If you have been told that the aforementioned diseases are incurable then allow me to enlighten you with a fact that they are VERY MUCH CURABLE. I have worked with clients and witnessed them release these so called incurable diseases with the help of ThetaHealing & Health Coaching.
