Dubai- A Food Connoisseur’s Paradise

Dubai, a city that pretty much ‘has it all’ , is also referred to as ‘Vegas on Steroids’. For me, until a few visits ago, it used to all about chilling with the fam-bam, till I discovered a plethora of restaurants & cuisines this city had to offer. 😍

What I absolutely adore about the food scene in Dubai is that it has everything for everyone. From “comfort food” to the food for haughty connoisseurs, this city is an absolute paradise for food lovers.

This blog post will be about two of the city’s finest restaurants.

Per Te

This Italian ristorante and cafe has some lipsmacking Italian offerings that hold the potential of making your taste buds POP!

If you are a cheese lover and haven’t tried the creamy burrata cheese, then you may want to question your existence.

No; really!

This is by far one of the best things I have ever tasted.  Pe Te offers Burrata with wine cherry tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and fresh basil leaves. Slurrrrrrppppp.

pizza con porcini e tartufo

Dubai was (perhaps still is) obsessed with truffle paste and pretty much prefers it in a lot dishes. I would like to request all the pizza whores out there to make a move and try this pizza to know what heaven feels like. Tartufo Pizza is flooded with mushrooms (of course), goat cheese and yes of course the famous truffle paste.

penne con pollo r fungi

Penne pasta with a burst of cheese, drowning in white sauce and (abundantly) peppered with chicken is a true delight for pasta lovers {and haters alike}.

Per Te offers an amazingly authentic Italian ambience that would surely make you forget the city you’re in!
Per Te is also known for its extensive eggless menu .
My only regret would be not trying the dessert at Per Te… but there’s always a next time. 😉
It truly offers a warm dining experience that will linger forever.

La Petit Maison (LPM)

LPM offers food that is result of a marriage between French Mediterranean cuisine and ‘influences’ of Ligurian Italy.
Known to make people cringe at the time of making a reservation, LPM is synonymous with stellar food. Famous for its’ burrata and escargot (snail), this french wonder has a lot more to offer.

Escargots De Bourgogne

This was the first time I tried snails tossed around in garlic butter and it absolutely blew my mind away . Word has it that this dish is so popular, that people tweak their travel plans to ensure they get their hands on this yum-drum.

Burrata Et Tomates

LPM was the place I tried my ‘spirit dish’ (if that makes any sense) for the first time. Being the cheese lover that I am, I can’t believe I wasn’t aware ofits existence!!! But now, I try gorging on it, every opportunity I get.

Coquelet Au Citron Confit

The Maven Lifestyle_By Aakansha Gurnani
Paradise for a true chicken lover, this dish is basically a roasted baby chicken (broiler) drenched in lemon. By far, this is THE BEST quality of chicken, I’ve ever had.

Truffle Rigatoni Pasta

Stepping out of LPM without getting your hands on this piece of art is a sin.

The only guarantee with this dish is that the rigatoni pasta flooded with black truffles will give you a food orgasm- straight up!

Pain Perdu et sa Glace aux Epices

The Maven Lifestyle_By Aakansha Gurnani
Being an unapologetically hardcore chocolate lover, if “I” can go bonkers after this (non-chocolate based) dessert, then, folks, this french toast (served with spice ice cream) is a must must-have!

Known for it’s friendly staff that is proactively helping one and all pick the best  of the best dishes, this place is quite expensive but oh so worth all the money one will pay after a heavenly meal. This is most certainly one of the places for me (like Yauatcha) that I don’t mind visiting every week. Yikes!⭐️

If you are in Dubai and enjoy food just like I do, then this place has to be on your bucket-list.

Hop, skip, jump from the world famous Burj Khalifa, Zuma follows the Japanese izakaya style of dining. This means that Zuma is a contemporary Japanese eating and drinking establishment where food is brought steadily and supposed to be ‘shared’ unlike the traditional (Japanese) dining style. I, fortunately yet unfortunately had a chance to go there for drinks only which is why i cannot speak about its food (that is really, very well known). Something that I can however speak of, is it’s uber flashy crowd and ambience. Capable of burning a whole in your wallet, Zuma is a place that anybody with an interest in Japanese cuisine MUST visit.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post. Now, as suggested by most of you, I should point out the ‘affordability’ of a restaurant every time I review it, and I agree , but for me (personally), the price can vary depending on your appetite, food choice, drinking preference, so on and so forth. Pointing out the price takes away what a restaurant has to offer, in my humble opinion.

Nevertheless, I must highlight that the aforementioned restaurants are a bit on the higher side but absolutely worth visiting.

A big shout-out to my sister-in-law &
fiancé for taking me to these places...
'cos gratitude is key.
