Cairns, A Travel Enthusiasts’ Muse

Flying to Cairns; every holiday makers’ paradise, opened the flood gates to exploring the real Australia for me. This pristine World Heritage preserved part on planet Earth adorned by the Great Barrier Reef is a dreamland in its own.

Culture Matters!

Australia is a country that is not just known for its people who believe in enjoying every bit of their free time but also preserving every part of their culture. This was evident at the Tjapukai Cultural Show where they introduce all the visitors to their ancestral know-hows. Right after the show the Kuranda Skyrail  which is Asia’s longest Skyrail took my troop and me over the tropical rainforest. Cairns, thus inspires all its visitors to not just preserve natural resources but also take immense pride in the ‘em!

The only place I’d rather chill!

Living for 3 days in Cairns will give you ‘perspective’. The vibe in this city is just too relaxed for its visitors to get worked up about things that aren’t important. Living in a beautiful resort constructed a decade ago gave me a peak into the luxury of the early 2000s. The beauty of places like these, lies in its beating holiday spirit. A perfect spot to come to with a loved one or a bunch of ’em, Cairns will surprise you with the countless activities it has in store for you including the overwhelming night market. A cruise liner to the Great Barrier Reef is all one needs to catch to explore this part of the world. This cruise allows you to snorkel, scuba dive, sky walk and what not!

Why I chose to walk on the Sea Bed?

Always observing the hype around going underwater made me wonder what is it about the waters that calms people down and shows them the right path (trying to sound philosophical here). As I do not ace at swimming, I chose to Sea walk! A more secured version of Scuba Diving, Sea walking allows you to experience the plush underwater of the Great Barrier Reef. It allows you to dance underwater, play with the fish, tease the corals and most importantly POSE!
You know how there are things on our bucket list that we want to do and, things we want to keep doing? Well, this one’s the latter.

Why must we all take a hot air balloon ride with our loved one?

Not being a morning person and waking up at 3 to experience this ride was quite an achievement in itself for me. Being able to see the sunrise amidst the clouds surrounded by your loved ones in a beautiful foreign land is too beautiful to be able to paint in words. And if I could compare this with one thing or try to describe it in one word – it’d be meditation. Yes, that’s how pure and serene ‘twas!

Peaceful Morning on the Hot Air Balloon

Cairns, for me will always be that untapped part of Australia that calls for a family bonding holiday. And if you’re a water baby and looking at travelling to a place that offers every kind of water sport and enough calmness to focus on your co-traveller/ partner/ family then Cairns is the six letter word you need to book your ticket to!

DID YOU KNOW?

Cairns is perhaps in the only place with two World Heritage Listed sites right next to each other- The Great Barrier Reef and Kuranda, world’s oldest tropical rainforest!
