Don’t you agree that WE ARE the books we read, the movies we watch, the videos we save for ‘watch later’ on YouTube and of course, the kind of people we surround ourselves with?
Why this post?
Well, time on my plate and some wonderful help at my beck and call has allowedme to focus on myself. This means that I am now going to bombard you guys with some legit stuff that goes well with #inspiration.
Okay so lame jokes apart, here are a few inspirational channels that will definitely help you stay motivated and focused on your goals instead of whiling away your valuable ‘free time’.
YES, even ‘free time’ is valuable!
You remember the video I had shared with you on whatsapp broadcast earlier this week?
If you still haven’t watched it then you are the king/queen of procrastination AND this blog post is written for you.
Seriously, still reading this?
PS…If you want to be added to the list, email me your whatsapp number.
So without further ado, I am listing down my personal best of the best with you…
1. How to be a BAWSE by Lilly Singh
This badass of a book is what I just got done with (like literally 2 days ago) and trust me, it’s what every ambitious person will get high on. Being a Lilly Singh fan will bring moments in the book where one might feel the urge to stand up and applaud!
2. Laws of the Spirit World by Khorsheed Bhavnagri
Every single time I talk about books on my blog, I talk about this beauty. This was the book that opened the gates to my spiritual path and I am more than grateful to my lovely friend, guide, teacher… Megha Nagpal Khanna for recommending this to me. Love you, Meg!
3. BORN FOR THIS by Chris Guillebeau
This was the book that helped me gather my confidence back each time I had my doubts with regards to The Maven Lifestyle. Yeah, that happens which is why I am constantly seeking love and support in the form of constructive feedback. Tee-hee!
Pick up this book for a plethora of techniques that will help you understand whatever it is that you’re born for!
4. The Soulmate Secret by Arielle Ford
This book was my baby when I was looking for my baby.
No but really, this book comes with some amazing techniques and rationale behind those techniques that will most definitely help you attract your soulmate into your life.
Disclaimer: Do not expect quick results or shortcuts! Nah ah!
Let me be a little preachy now and tell you that all the beautiful things that are to happen to you take time. You need to be “ready” for it and that’s exactly what this book will do.
5. WHY MEN MARRY BITCHES by Sherry Argov
Well, do not judge this book by its cover title. Infact don’t judge it at all, just buy it (and thank me later)!
Next on my list are
1. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell
2. Krishna by Osho (I’m a huge Osho fan btw and have read a lot of his books. I haven’t recommended any here as I feel not many of you may resonate with what this great guy has to say. Comment below if you want some suggestions. )
3. The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad by Twinkle Khanna (yes, this is because I am a loyal twinkle khanna fan. )
4. Kundalini by Om Swami
5. Finding your own North Star by Martha Beck
6. Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus by John Gary
Phew! This is a sign that I need to stop hoarding right now! Oh good lord!
Do u have any input on these books?
Top 5 videos
I have started taking some handles on YouTube far too seriously. I enjoy how put together they are with regards to the information they share.
I’m also amused by the strong community built by each one of them.
Its unfathomable how anybody can find any given information and that too beautifully presented on YouTube. It’s my go-to-place at any given point of time. Might sound eerie but it’s one of the things I am extremely grateful for! For all you know, I might start my own YouTube handle.
Meanwhile, here are some of my favourite ones.
If you’re a luxury fan and like keeping yourself up-to-date about all things luxury and fine living then you are going to LOVE this channel. I can’t get over its’ ’15 Things You Didn’t Know About Series…’
2. Leeor Alexandra
A true advocate of Law of Attraction, this chica refers to her subscribers as baby elephants. I can’t help but put every single technique she enlightens her fans with, to practice. She’s plain amazing!
Lilly Singh aka Superwoman is the one who dictates YouTube. Okay maybe not dictates but is the one who brought a new wave of positivity (trying to help herself out of depression back in 2010).
Now a big YouTube star, her humble beginnings inspire many! She is by far the funniest woman I know!
I LOVE HER!
I absolutely adore this channel because it swears by being unapologetically and undeniably YOU!
Need I say more? You have to check this out for some of it’s super quirky content. I’m a fan!
I’ve been the biggest advocate of Brahmakumari Shivani for years now. Her interviews/talk shows have changed the way my brain used to think and react to situations. I promise you, if you fervently follow her for just one week, you will find yourself transforming into this positive, happy, peaceful person.
Try it out, please!
6. Evan Carmichael’s Top 10 Rules of Success of STARS
Success has no formula and successful people swear by a multitude of qualities. This channel will keep you pumped at all times! I promise.
7. TEDx Talks
If you are not following this already then ask yourself WHY! 😡
Which one of the aforementioned handles would you like to follow?
has been my go-to source for sugar, spice and all things nice for the longest time now. Stood by its’ side (Instagram’s – I deserve a shoutout, really) from the very beginning, I believe it’s my duty to share what keeps me going (still).
Jamie Oliver needs no introduction especially after the revolution he’s brought in the food industry. This restaurant taught me what stellar quality food means. Need I say more? Even though you will always find it on the higher side of the price range, I must say- it’s absolutely worth it!
5. Soda Bottle Opener Wala (Bangalore/Mumbai)
celebrates the true spirit of Bombay Iranian Cafe. It takes you back in the day where good food was all one cared about. This place is a paradise for all food lovers alike.
I am certain you have some favourites too. I shall try to visit and give you a well-deserved shoutout.

5 Best Cities in the World that will blow your mind away
1. Queenstown , New Zealand
is and will perhaps always be one of my favourite cities in the world. It will always be that city where I bungee jumped, did some kickass white water rafting (and later froze to death), experienced the beautiful Milford Sound Cruise, hogged on some yummyyyy (slurp) Ferg’s burger and endlessly munched at Cookie time bar.
has to be very travel blogger’s muse. There’s so much to do here for water babies that one can stay back for days. What I love about Cairns the most is that it’s a city that compels you to have that peace of mind you’ve been craving for and running after.
Dubai is not just another city for me… it’s home for me. I must have visited Dubai for over 30 times now and it still doesn’t fail to surprise me. Dubai has everything for everyone and if you consider yourself a foodie then Dubai has to be on your bucket list. It’s a compulsion. I’m serious. Really.
I must have visited London at least 4 times now and thinking about it always puts me in a state of reminiscence…and of course makes me want to plan a trip yet again. Having studied in the UK gave me multiple chances to visit London and I did! Trust me guys, it’s THE PLACE TO BE – for shopaholics, foodies, party animals, art enthusiasts , dancers – everybody!!! If you haven’t been to London, well,
5. Amsterdam, Netherlands
is known for all the good things and some not so good things.
It is a world in its own and everything about this city will blow your mind away, quite literally. :-p
Unfortunately Fortunately I have explored Amsterdam with my folks which implies I have seen a different side to it which I must say is just as good.
A round two is the need of the hour.
I hope my girlfriends are reading this and taking some much needed inspiration.
I know you have a favourite too.
