BE YOUR OWN VALENTINE unconditional self love

Dear Readers,

This blog post is dedicated to SELF-LOVE, unapologetic & fierce love for self.

Self-love however is so much more than just loving yourself. If you disintegrate it, understand the various factors that shape & form this virtue called “self-love”, you’ll realize how profound & IMPORTANT it is for you to love yourself immensely & intensely.

Self-love & Self-acceptance

The Maven Lifestyle by Aakansha

Self-love as a virtue can only be mastered AFTER you have MASTERED the virtue of self-acceptance. By self-acceptance, I mean accepting yourself for all the so-called flaws you have; accepting your strengths & weaknesses alike. I have seen so many women being so critical of themselves. No matter how healthy their skin is, they are just not satisfied; they always find another woman whose skin would be clearer and end up comparing.

Comparison is the lowest depth of misery.

The moment you stop comparing yourself with those around you, you’ll realise how complete, whole & divine you are. The biggest step to self-acceptance is erasing the idea of ‘comparison’ from your dictionary & your attitude. Only then can you practice the art of accepting yourself.

And once you’ve accepted yourself unconditionally, you will start falling in love with yourself truly, madly, deeply.

Food for thought

Think of 2 people you love the most- could be your partner/parent(s)/child/best friend.

..

..

..

..

Now, do they have even a single weakness or limitation or a habit that you may not approve of?

I’m sure there would be a couple of teeny things here & there that you don’t like about them but WHO CARES?

YOU LOVE THEM REGARDLESS OF THAT, right?

This means that your love for them is unconditional.

Why can’t you apply this on self?

Love yourself unconditionally despite the flaws/limitations. Wear them all like a badge of honor and SEE THE MAGIC IN THAT.

Judgement detox & criticism

Every time you judge someone else, you are REVEALING an unhealed part of yourself. Anything you see in someone else that triggers you, you need to work on yourself. The whole idea behind our soul taking form in this human life IS to learn how to love & accept self & others unconditionally. There’s really no such thing as right or wrong ‘cos its all about PERCEPTION. And, PERCEPTION is PROJECTION. What you see in others is just the reflection of yourself.

If you only see the positive in others, it’s actually a reflection of your positivity in them. 🙂

If you see a negative quality in someone else, it’s your negative quality that is being projected back to you through that so-called negative person.

Learn to see good in every single person, step into their shoes and think…

How would I react if I were in his/her shoes given the emotional condition he/she has been brought up with???

We all are on different journeys here so our paths are different & unique.

Appreciation for self

The Maven Lifestyle Love the Skin You're In

Once you get out of the rut of being critical towards self & others, you will realize how easy it is for you to accept yourself & others around you.

Once you learn to accept yourself unconditionally, you start loving yourself unconditionally.

This love for self must be expressed through appreciation.

Anything you’d want your partner or loved ones to do for you, you do it for yourself.

Food for thought

In my early twenties, I was a hopeless romantic and often found day dreaming about R (who was nowhere to be found). I always wanted to have someone in my life who’d spoil me rotten with flowers and some day propose me with a diamond ring. I am glad it took a long while for R to show up in my reality because I not just became financially independent but also started buying a big bunch of flowers for myself every weekend and ended up saving and got myself a diamond ring.

YES, my very first diamond ring was a gift I gave myself thinking…

Why should I wait for a guy to buy me a diamond ring? I am independent enough to get it myself! 🙂

I still wear that gorgeous ring like a badge of honor.

Energy Vampires

“Pay attention to whom your energy increases & decreases around, because that’s the Universe giving you a hint who you should embrace or stray away from.” This is the strongest advice you can accept in your reality & follow it to the T. There will be people around you who will always look for flaws in you and criticize you & your intentions, stay the F away from them. They will suck the positivity out of you and deserve to stay further away from you.

Protecting your aura

It’s very very important for you to protect your space, your sacred auric field by surrounding yourself with your well wishers and constantly staying in the zone of gratitude. It’s the highest energy frequency you can tap into and flourish in, really. The more grateful you are, higher will the frequency of your auric field and easier it will be for you to not have & repel negative nancies around. 😉

Power of Healing

Sometimes, being unable to love & accept various parts about self gets really tough and the reason behind that could be mental conditioning while growing up or a childhood episode that might have humiliated you and made you question the way you look & feel about yourself. These issues are highly sensitive and need to be dealt with utmost compassion. Here is where healing comes to rescue.

We all have been through episodes of self-doubt, self-criticism & self-loathing but if this has become a pattern in your life, it’s high time you release this & seek healing to do away with all the aforementioned feelings.
